One of a kind, Men's Pocket Square in silk, charmeuse. It's beautiful. Took Edvard Munch's original woodcut, "The Lonely Ones" from 1899 and colored it to make it suitable for men's wear.
The Lonely Ones is a piece of art Munch did a variety of times. In Munch’s work, human isolation stems from both the anxiety of modern life and the painful experience of lost love, jealousy and abandonment and the artist used the full force of graphic media to express these difficult emotions.
I feel I stayed true to the artist's interpretation of colors, keeping the graininess of wood and emphasizing the bold directness with solid high-contrast colors that captures the look of an approaching night and a woman with golden hair.
A gorgeous excerpt from the first biography of Munch published by Jens Thiis who had this to say about The Lonely Ones:
"It is evening down by the shore. The blue ‘Summer night’ is descending like blue silk over sky and sea. (...) On the beach among the stones two people are standing. She is looking out over the sea, and her free-flowing golden hair is facing him. She is staring out into the approaching night; he is staring at the whiteness of her figure and the golden fire of her hair. And his back arches, his neck stretches, his hands clench in a dark desire for her,”
